Android TV and Google TV app
Lazy Lighting TV Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 3, 2026 · Last revised: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AUDITY APPS LLC (“Audity,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Lazy Lighting TV application, also presented as Lazy Lighting Link, on an Android TV, Google TV, projector, or compatible receiver device (the “TV App”).
This Policy applies only to the TV App. The Lazy Lighting mobile apps and the Lazy Lighting website have separate privacy policies that describe their own practices.
1. Privacy at a Glance
- You do not need to create an account or sign in to use the TV App.
- The TV App does not contain advertising or third-party analytics.
- The TV App does not send usage data, diagnostics, saved projects, or live video streams to Audity servers.
- The TV App receives content directly from a compatible Lazy Lighting mobile app over your local network when you choose to pair, cast, or transfer a project.
- Saved videos, mapping images, projection settings, and pairing information are stored locally on the TV or receiver device.
- You can delete saved projects within the TV App. You can remove the remaining locally stored TV App data by clearing the TV App’s storage or uninstalling it, subject to any copies retained in device backups.
2. Information the TV App Handles
2.1 Pairing and Connection Information
To identify the receiver and connect it with a compatible Lazy Lighting mobile app, the TV App may create, receive, and locally store:
- a randomly generated receiver identifier;
- the receiver name shown to devices on the local network;
- the identifier and name supplied by a paired mobile device;
- pairing requests, temporary PINs, session credentials, and expiration times; and
- cryptographic hashes of trusted-device credentials.
Pairing PINs and session credentials are temporary. Trusted-device records expire after a limited period unless renewed through use. The TV App stores trusted-device credentials as cryptographic hashes rather than storing the original credentials.
The TV App may also temporarily process the local Internet Protocol address of a connecting device to operate and protect the pairing service, including rate limiting repeated pairing requests. This address is not retained as part of the saved trusted-device record and is not sent to Audity.
2.2 Videos, Images, and Project Information
When you choose to send a project from a compatible Lazy Lighting mobile app, the TV App may receive and store:
- rendered video files;
- mapping or outline images;
- projection alignment and transformation settings;
- file information such as file size, format, resolution, duration, and creation or modification date; and
- locally generated thumbnails and playback information.
This content is stored in the TV App’s private storage on the receiver device so it can be replayed without keeping the mobile device connected. Audity does not receive or have access to this content through the TV App.
2.3 Live Cast Content
When you start Live Cast, the TV App temporarily receives encoded video frames and playback configuration from the paired mobile device over the local network. The TV App decodes the stream for display. Live Cast frames are not intentionally saved as a project or transmitted to Audity.
2.4 Network and Device Information
The TV App accesses network and Wi-Fi state to display connection information, advertise the receiver on the local network, and accept pairing, project-transfer, and Live Cast connections. It may use a local IP address, Android Network Service Discovery, HTTP, and TCP socket connections for these features.
The TV App does not request GPS or precise-location permission. A local IP address can sometimes reveal information about a home or venue network, but the TV App uses it only on the device to provide local connection features and does not send it to Audity.
2.5 Local Logs
The TV App may write technical messages to Android’s local system log for operation and troubleshooting. The TV App does not include a remote crash-reporting or analytics service that sends those logs to Audity. If you voluntarily contact support and provide a log, screenshot, or other diagnostic information, we will receive the information you choose to provide.
3. How Information Is Used
The TV App uses the information described above to:
- display and identify the receiver on your local network;
- pair with and authenticate compatible mobile devices;
- receive and display a Live Cast stream;
- receive, save, organize, and play transferred projects;
- preserve projection alignment and playback settings;
- generate project previews and display media details;
- prevent unauthorized or excessive pairing and connection attempts; and
- diagnose errors locally on the device.
We do not use information handled by the TV App for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
4. Local Network Transfers
Project transfers and Live Cast connections occur directly between the TV App and a compatible mobile device on the same local network. Audity does not operate an intermediary cloud service for these transfers.
Some local-network communications use unencrypted HTTP or TCP. Pairing credentials help restrict access, but they do not encrypt the transferred content. Use the TV App only on a network and with devices you trust. Other people with access to the same network or receiver may be able to observe, intercept, alter, or retain transmitted information.
Deleting a project from the mobile app does not delete a copy that has already been transferred to the TV App. Likewise, deleting a project from the TV App does not delete the original or another copy stored on a mobile device.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
The TV App does not sell personal information and does not share information with advertising or analytics companies.
Information is disclosed through the TV App only in the following limited circumstances:
- Devices you connect: The TV App exchanges pairing information, status responses, project content, and Live Cast data with a compatible device you choose to connect on your local network.
- Android or Google TV platform services: Google Play and the device operating system may process app-installation, security, licensing, backup, diagnostics, or device information independently under Google’s terms and privacy policy. Audity does not control information collected directly by those platform services.
- Legal and safety reasons: If Audity receives information from you, such as through a support request, we may disclose it when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
- Business transfers: Information held by Audity may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections and applicable law.
The TV App uses software libraries for media playback, QR-code generation, and cryptographic operations. These libraries operate as part of the TV App and are not used by Audity to collect or transmit user data.
6. Storage, Backups, Retention, and Deletion
Saved projects
Saved videos, mapping images, thumbnails, and projection settings remain on the receiver until you delete the project in the TV App, clear the TV App’s storage, uninstall the TV App, or the device removes the data.
Pairing information
Temporary pairing and session information expires automatically. Trusted-device records normally expire after 30 days without renewal. The receiver identifier, receiver name, and other preferences may remain until the TV App’s storage is cleared or the TV App is uninstalled.
Device backups and transfers
Depending on the receiver, operating-system version, account settings, and device-manufacturer behavior, Android or Google TV backup, restore, or device-transfer features may copy some locally stored TV App data. Such copies are controlled through the applicable device or Google account settings and may remain until the relevant backup is replaced or deleted.
Support communications
If you contact Audity for support, we retain the information you provide only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, protect the service, resolve disputes, and comply with law. You may request deletion of eligible support information by emailing the address below.
Because the TV App does not create an Audity account or upload its local content to Audity, Audity generally cannot remotely view or delete information stored on your receiver. You can delete individual saved projects from the TV App. To remove all locally stored data, use the device’s Clear storage control for the TV App or uninstall the TV App. You may need to separately manage device backups or copies held on connected devices.
7. Security
The TV App uses measures designed to protect local connections, including time-limited pairing PINs, randomly generated credentials, credential hashing, scoped session credentials, expiration periods, and limits on repeated pairing attempts.
However, local-network transfers are not end-to-end encrypted, and no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep the receiver and connected mobile devices updated, use a trusted network, do not share pairing PINs, and restrict physical and account access to the receiver.
8. Children’s Privacy
The TV App is a general-audience creative and media-playback tool and is not directed to children under 13. It does not provide account creation, social features, advertising, or a way to submit personal information to Audity from within the TV App. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Audity through a separate support channel, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights concerning personal information held by Audity, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing. Because TV App content remains on your receiver and is not uploaded to Audity, the most direct way to exercise control over it is through the project’s delete control, the device’s Clear storage control, backup settings, or uninstalling the TV App.
For information that you voluntarily provide to Audity through support, you may submit a privacy request using the contact information below. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify and process the request. Some information may be retained where permitted or required for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.
10. External Links and QR Codes
The TV App may display QR codes or links for the Lazy Lighting website, user guides, app-store pages, or other resources. Visiting an external site or store is governed by that service’s privacy policy. This Policy does not describe the data practices of websites or services merely linked from the TV App.
11. International Processing
Audity is based in the United States. If you voluntarily contact Audity or otherwise provide information directly to us outside the TV App, that information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the TV App, our practices, legal requirements, or platform requirements. We will post the revised Policy with an updated effective date. If a change materially affects how the TV App handles personal information, we will provide any additional notice or choice required by law.
