About the app
- Lazy Lighting is an iOS app that turns any standard projector into a projection mapping tool. You use your iPhone or iPad to create and control mapped projections—no computer or complex software needed.
- Lazy Lighting is currently available for iPhone and iPad only. There is no Android, Mac, or Windows version.
- Lazy Lighting is built for iPhone and iPad. Your device needs to support video output to an external display (e.g. via Lightning or USB‑C adapter).
- Lazy Lighting is designed to output to one projector at a time from your iPhone or iPad.
- It's inspired by the Grateful Dead song of a similar name. I was too lazy to use a complicated computer program for projection mapping—so I built something easier to use.
- Yes. You can use your own videos and images in Lazy Lighting. Import from your photo library or files to create custom mappings and effects.
Setup & hardware
- Most projectors that accept HDMI or a compatible video input will work. We recommend checking our projector guide and setup survey to pick one that fits your budget and use case.
- You'll need a cable or adapter (e.g. Lightning or USB‑C to HDMI) depending on your device. Our cable guide walks you through the right options for your setup.
Pricing & subscriptions
- You can download Lazy Lighting from the App Store. Check the app listing for current pricing and any in‑app features.
- From the home screen, tap the icon in the top right, then tap Restore Purchase.
- Cancel through Apple: If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple (Apple Support).
- Follow the steps here: Request a refund for apps or content (Apple Support).
